Hi! My name is Sarra Mudd and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A).
Prior to my graduate studies, my role as an advanced academics high school teacher provided me with invaluable experience in working with adolescents. This experience fostered a profound desire to support teens struggling with mental health disorders. My transition from education to mental health counseling was driven by a passion to make a tangible difference in the lives of young individuals through targeted, compassionate care.
I incorporate evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapeutic modalities help us understand the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also enjoy using expressive therapies such as Art Therapy and Play Therapy to help facilitate self-expression.
There are other modalities I use for the treatment of specific disorders such as Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) for treating disorders of overcontrol, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) for substance use disorders.
